"Photos didn’t really match the place"
I booked this place based on the photos and description, but when we arrived it just felt different, if that makes sense. The room was older than it looked online, not as clean as I expected, and the listing made it seem much nicer overall. I was really disappointed and wouldn’t trust this listing again...

"I barely slept the whole week because..."
I barely slept the whole week because the beds were that uncomfortable. I mentioned it, but it felt like one of those policy loopholes where unless something is technically “broken,” nothing really gets done. Frustrating when getting a decent night’s sleep is the whole point of staying there.

"I was happy with my stay..."
I was happy with my stay, especially for the price. The bed was really comfortable and I ended up sleeping great, which is the main thing I cared about. Felt like a good value overall.

"Pretty decent for the price"
Overall it was good value for what we paid. Nothing fancy, and yeah there were a few little niggles here and there, but the stay was decent. We felt like we got our money’s worth

"I didn’t really feel like the staff..."
I didn’t really feel like the staff were that friendly or helpful. It kind of felt like I was just another ticket number to get through, not someone they actually wanted to assist. A little more warmth would’ve made a big difference...
"Booking was such a headache"
I tried booking with John Fowler Holidays it was a bit of a mess. Emails back and forth. Waiting ages for customer service to reply. Then when they finally did, it didn’t really solve anything. Just felt like no one actually wanted to help sort it out. Frustrating. I won’t be booking with them again

"Not as pet friendly as we expected"
We booked this place because we were bringing our dog and thought it would be easy. But once we got there, so many areas were off limits that it didn’t feel very pet friendly. Since the staff weren’t very helpful when we asked what we could do, we ended up feeling restricted the whole time. We paid extra to have our dog with us, but because of all the rules, it didn’t feel worth it. I wouldn’t book again if I were traveling with a dog

"Better than I expected"
We stayed with John Fowler and, it was better than I thought it would be. I don’t mean that in a bad way, I just know holiday park accommodation can sometimes be a bit hit or miss, so I went in with fairly average expectations. When we arrived, everything was clean, the beds were made up nicely, and the kitchen stuff all worked properly, which makes a big difference when you’re staying somewhere for a few days. We did have one small issue with the shower draining a bit slowly, but we reported it and maintenance came round quickly and got it sorted, so it wasn’t really a problem in the end. The whole place felt like it was being looked after rather than just left to get tired and run down, which I’ve definitely seen at other parks before. Overall, we had a good stay and I’d be happy to book again.

"Fun for the kids, a bit repetitive"
The shows were alright, my kids seemed to enjoy them. After a while though, it started to feel a little repetitive for me.

"Felt like the rules depended on who you were"
Not the best stay. There were people being really loud late at night, like properly keeping everyone up, and the staff didn’t seem to do much about it. But then little rules with us were picked up straight away, which just felt unfair. I don’t know, the whole thing was stressful and kind of frustrating. We were just trying to relax, and instead it felt like we were constantly watching what we did while others got away with whatever. Wouldn’t stay again.

"Not the escape I was hoping for"
I came in hoping for a bit of a breather, but it just didn’t feel that way to me. The roads were noisy, and the views didn’t really give me much to look forward to, so I ended up feeling kind of stuck rather than refreshed.

"Didn’t feel very family friendly"
We booked this place thinking it would be an easy, relaxed trip with the kids, but it didn’t really feel that way once we got there.
It seemed much more geared toward adults than families, and keeping the kids entertained ended up being more stressful than we expected. We also messaged with a couple of questions and got replies that felt like nobody had actually read what we wrote, which was frustrating.
Maybe it works better for other families, but for us it just wasn’t the relaxing break we were hoping for. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to go back.

"Check-in was way more stressful than it needed to be"
After a long drive, the last thing you want is a messy check-in, that’s exactly what we got. It felt really slow and a bit all over the place, with a lot of waiting around and not much communication about what was happening. The staff looked rushed, which I get, but it didn’t make it any less frustrating. Then when we finally got the keys, the directions to the lodge weren’t exactly clear either, so we were left trying to figure that out too. Just not the best first impression and definitely not the calm start to the holiday I was hoping for.

"Disappointing Food and Drinks"
We stayed with John Fowler and, unfortunately, the food really let the place down. Breakfast was cold most mornings, and the evening meals felt cheap and bland. The bar wasn’t much better either — the drinks were flat and seemed overpriced for what they were. In the end, we started eating out after the second day, which was frustrating since we’d already paid to stay there. Overall, not the experience we were hoping for, and I wouldn’t choose to go back

"Parking was really a nightmare"
We had to park really far away, which was not fun at all with bags and kids in tow. It made the whole arrival feel way more stressful than it needed to be.

"Wifi was better than I expected"
We stayed a few nights the wifi was surprisingly good. No drama with the kids watching videos. I could check my work emails too without any hassle. Mobile signal was decent as well, 4G most of the time around the park. Just made everything easier. 5 stars from us.

"Not great, the facilities felt really poor"
The park just felt tired, like it hadn’t been looked after much. The pool was cold and really packed, and in the arcade a lot of the machines were not working. The play area too was quite dirty, which wasn’t nice. The shop had hardly anything useful in it, so basics felt missing all over the place. Wouldn’t book again, honestly.

"Easy enough stay, with a couple little hiccups"
The staff were really helpful with my wheelchair, and getting in with the ramp was mostly fine. The bathroom felt a bit tight and could definitely use more space. But honestly? Overall, it was a good stay and I’d be okay coming back

"A little noisy, but still a good stay"
There was a bit of noise at night, which was a little annoying 😅, but I still slept well enough and had a decent stay overall.
